ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 1, 2021—Volunteers of America National Services continues to be a proactive leader in protecting those we serve and our team members by establishing a vaccine standard. We are following our established high quality standards of care and asking all VOANS healthcare staff who travel to or work within our communities/agencies/programs, volunteers and contractors to be protected by the COVID-19 vaccine. All required doses of the vaccine should be received by October 1, 2021 in order to be fully vaccinated by October 15, 2021.
The organization’s response provides ample time for employees to schedule and receive the vaccinations. VOANS is also working to provide opportunities to receive COVID-19 vaccination(s) onsite. We are grateful for the time, expertise and heart our team gives every day and the policy is in place to provide a safe place for everyone who works and lives in our facilities.
“VOANS is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our residents and staff. The COVID-19 vaccination is a scientifically proven way to protect our team members, residents, volunteers, friends, family and the community at large. . This adopted vaccine standard is our part of the nationwide solution that allows all of us to fully live our lives.” said Sharon Wilson Geno, EVP and chief operating officer, Volunteers of American National Services.
