At Volunteers of America National Services’ senior living and care communities, the health and safety of our residents, staff and extended community is of utmost importance. We’re working around the clock to monitor the COVID-19 vaccine situation and follow the current recommendations of the CDC and other state and local health officials on distribution efforts. Our communities are partnering to provide continued onsite vaccine opportunities for both residents and staff. To learn more about onsite vaccinations, please contact your local community.
Boosters for COVID-19 Vaccines now recommended for Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson for Certain Populations
The following populations that received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster 6 months after receiving their initial series.
Populations 18 and older that received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible for a booster 2 months after receiving their initial vaccination.
There are booster recommendations available for all three available COVID-19 vaccines. CDC’s recommendations now allow a mix and match dosing for booster shots.
Contact your medical provider or local pharmacy to schedule a booster or contact your VOANS community/program to inquire about the availability of booster clinics onsite.
There is one vaccine with full Food & Drug Admnistration (FDA) approval [Pfizer BioNTech] and two vaccines that have been approved by the FDA for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) [Moderna and Johnson & Johnson].
