Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) model is centered on the belief that the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs and their families are better served in the community. Together, we are helping seniors to remain living in their homes whenever possible.

The objective of PACE is to provide a range of integrated, preventative, acute, and long-term care services to manage the often complex medical, functional, and social needs of older adults. PACE was created to provide clients, family, caregivers, and professional healthcare providers, the flexibility to meet a person’s health and everyday needs, whilst continuing to live safely in the community. Ultimately, PACE seeks to maximize the dignity and unique needs of older adults and their immediate family unit. The Balanced Budget Act of 1997 established PACE as a permanent entity within the Medicare program, enabling states to provide PACE services to Medicaid beneficiaries as a state plan option. Operationally, the PACE program is unique as it is a three-way partnership between the Federal government, the State, and the PACE organization.
